Autumn Changes to the ENWC Calendar

Each month in Exploring Nature With Children has four weeks of study. For September, this usually looks like:

  • Week One: Seeds
  • Week Two: Minibeast Hunt
  • Week Three: The Harvest Moon
  • Week Four: The Autumnal Equinox

But this year, the dates of the Harvest Moon and the Autumn Equinox have brought a few changes to our rhythm!

What’s different this year?

  • Harvest Moon Week has been moved to October (6th–12th) to accommodate the unusually late date of the full Harvest Moon on October 7th.
  • The Autumnal Equinox Week has moved earlier (September 22nd–28th) so it still aligns with the actual Equinox on September 22nd.
  • Autumn Leaves Week will now fall September 29th–October 5th instead of October, so we can fully enjoy those early autumn colours before the Harvest Moon arrives.

This way will help your studies to align more beautifully with the natural world around you.
