The October Nature Table

NT1

The October nature table is looking quite festive! Next week’s nature walk in Exploring Nature With Children is Autumn leaves, so our table is dressed accordingly.

NT5

I made the big mushroom child, the felted mushroom, and autumn leaves when the girls were small. I think the other mushrooms were from Ikea.

NT4

Tuesday was Michaelmas, so we added this little card to our nature table. Our church is St Michael’s and All Angels, and the card is a photograph of one of the stained glass windows. It is a beautiful church πŸ™‚

NT3

Needle-felted acorns amongst the conkers.

NT2

A beautiful hand-carved set of mushrooms. Again, we have had this since the girls were tiny.

I really do love this time of year…the glorious colours & gentle light. Please feel free to share links to your own nature table in the comments.

Happy Exploring!

  1. Wow! You are so talented, your table looks lovely. I am new to CM and we really enjoy our outdorr time. I ‘d love to a nature table but I have a very busy/nosey 2 year old and she would definitely mess up anything I had set up! I miss centerpieces lol

  2. I love the felted acorns. Our nature “table” features a vast number of conkers in wooden bowls and some rose hips. My youngest is six not two but for various reasons the best place for our nature objects is on the mantelpiece. They might need to be moved once the fire is lit!
