The Harvest Moon – Exploring Nature With Children

1

This week is Harvest Moon Week in Exploring Nature With Children, and what a beauty!

We went for a night-time nature walk and were treated to this beautiful, glorious moon.

Moon on water

My plan is to set my alarm for around 2:30am and if the sky is clear, wake up the children.

Wish me luck!

  1. Hi Lynn,
My children loved your photos and we are enjoying following along with you, they are tickled by the idea that someone else is looking at the same sort of thing as them in a different part of the country. Thank you for writing exploring nature with children, I think you have done a great job.

We made the walk last night a social occasion with the children inviting friends and neighbours. I think having quite a few people meant we didn’t see much wildlife (bats and a frog) but the children had great fun playing with their Moon shadows and eating vast quantities of fruit from the hedgerow!

  2. Hello Jenny!

Thank you so much for your message; I am delighted to hear your children are enjoying Exploring Nature With Children so much. I must confess to getting a kick to know that when we go for our nature walk, we are ‘joined’ by so many other families, the world over!!!

Your Moon Walk sounds ever so much fun 🙂

    Happy exploring!
    Lynn
